A unique 14th century arched doorway rescued from a danish ship, offers a reassuring welcome to St.Nicholas' Church.
Built between the 12th and 14th centuries, St. Nicholas Church features mason and merchant marks on the inside walls which provide evidence of this.
It was renovated after the civil war and again at the start of the 20th century, when further work was carried out. Due to its historic importance, it is now a Grade 1 listed building.
Our beautiful church is the only place of worship in Marston Trussell. It is situated on the edge of the village, set back from the road and surrounded by fields.
Interesting features are the Porch which dates back to the 14th century and is constructed from timbers from a Danish ship, which was stranded on the Welland when the river was navigable. There is a chest inside the church which dates back to the Magna Carta and is still in use today. Lots of other interesting features can be seen inside and information about the church is available to visitors.
Services are held each month on a Sunday morning and all are welcome.
